Overview:

 

Five training sessions on “Participatory Engagement Capacity List and GESI Related Capacity Ranking of Teacher Groups and Student Groups as Researchers and Co-Researchers” were held in 8 schools in 5 upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district. A total of 113 participants took part in the training, including 56 female and 57 male teachers and students. The objective of the training was to create an understanding of the competency inventory and GESI-related competency rankings among teachers and students and to strengthen their group-based participatory engagement.

The core of the training:


Role as researcher and co-researcher: Preparing teachers and students for participatory research.
Capacity building related to GESI: enhancing skills and knowledge related to gender equality and social inclusion among students and teachers.
Power Ranking: To analyze the social and gender power among the participants and increase their opportunities for inclusion and leadership.

Thus, this training has helped to ensure effective participation in social inclusion and gender equality issues among teachers and students and is an important step towards creating a more robust learning environment in the future.
