Primary School, Ramu and Inani Govt. Primary School, Ukhiya, Cox\u2019s Bazar<\/li>\n<li><strong>Participants:<\/strong> Total 64 (Male: 28; Female: 36)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chief Guest:<\/strong> Md. Shahen Mia, District Primary Education Officer (DPEO)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Special Guests:<\/strong> Gulshan Akter and Mazeda Sultana, Assistant District Primary Education Officers (ADPEO)<\/li>\n<li><strong>RDRS Bangladesh Representatives:<\/strong> Md. Mujibul Haque Munir, Head of Social Development; Md. Mamunur Rashid, Head of MEL; Syeda Nur-E-Nabila Tabassum, Project Manager; Romana Afaz, Education Facilitator; Absar Uddin, Education Facilitator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>RDRS Bangladesh organized two school-level capabilities campaigns at Chainda Govt. Primary School, Ramu and Inani Govt. Primary School, Ukhiya, Cox\u2019s Bazar, under the project <em>\u201cPromoting Gender Equality and Social Inclusion in Schools Building on What Children Value and Aspire to Do and Be.\u201d<\/em> The event brought together education officials, teachers, LIKE Club members, and project staff to observe and review the club\u2019s progress in promoting value-based learning and inclusion through the Children Valued Educational Capabilities (CVEC) approach.<\/p>\n<p>The District Primary Education Officer inaugurated the LIKE Club during the visit. After the inauguration, club members introduced themselves and shared their roles and enthusiasm for promoting positive school environments and peer support. The session began with an introduction to the LIKE Club\u2019s mission, vision, and objectives, followed by an explanation of members\u2019 roles and responsibilities. A presentation on the CVEC initiative was then delivered, highlighting its focus on developing students\u2019 capabilities. The discussion also covered the <em>16 Capability List<\/em> and its importance in promoting students\u2019 well-being and inclusion. Students actively participated by presenting CVEC-related activities and sharing their learning experiences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To assess the progress of LIKE Club activities under the CVEC campaign.<\/li>\n<li>To review the use of participatory tools such as the <em>Activity Book for Teachers<\/em> and <em>16 Capability List<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>To strengthen collaboration among education officials, teachers, and students in promoting gender equality and social inclusion.<\/li>\n<li>To collect feedback for improving and sustaining capability-based learning practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Discussion Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>LIKE Club members addressed their leadership and teamwork through various capability-based activities. Teachers expressed their experiences using the <em>Activity Book for Teachers<\/em> to integrate values and inclusion into classroom lessons. The Project Manager highlighted the <em>16 Capability List<\/em> as a framework for developing empathy, confidence, and responsibility among students.<\/p>\n<p>Education officials praised students\u2019 active engagement and teachers\u2019 commitment to participatory learning. The discussions emphasized that the CVEC approach enables students to identify their valued capabilities and apply them in everyday life. Teachers also mentioned challenges such as limited resources and time, for which RDRS Bangladesh assured continued technical support.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Guests\u2019 Discussion (in Brief)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Md. Shahen Mia (DPEO):<\/strong> Commended the initiative, emphasizing that combining academic learning with capability-based activities would help students become well-rounded, confident individuals. He encouraged teachers to continue fostering equality and inclusion in every aspect of school life.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gulshan Akter &amp; Mazeda Sultana (ADPEOs):<\/strong> Applauded the creativity and enthusiasm of the LIKE Club. Praised and urged to continue school for sustaining such efforts and inspiring other schools to replicate similar practices.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Md. Mujibul Haque Munir (Head of Social Development):<\/strong> Highlighted how the project aligns with national education priorities by nurturing children\u2019s holistic growth and capability development.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Md. Mamunur Rashid (Head of MEL):<\/strong> Emphasized the importance of proper documentation and evidence-based learning for future scale-up. To ensure accountability and proper documentation, focus every activity properly with photographs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Syeda Nur-E-Nabila Tabassum (Project Manager):<\/strong> Briefly describe the activity book for teachers and the capability list activities. Explained how the <em>16 Capability List<\/em> strengthens students\u2019 personal, social, and academic growth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strengthened collaboration between school authorities, education officials, and RDRS Bangladesh.<\/li>\n<li>Enhanced understanding and application of capability-based and inclusive education practices.<\/li>\n<li>Improved leadership, participation, and confidence among LIKE Club members.<\/li>\n<li>Positive recognition from education officials for continued and expanded implementation.<\/li>\n<li>RDRS Bangladesh reaffirmed its commitment to provide ongoing technical and mentoring support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The visit of the District Primary Education Officer to Chainda Primary School successfully demonstrated the effectiveness of capability-based learning in fostering inclusion, empathy, and leadership among students. The event encouraged stronger collaboration between teachers, education officials, and RDRS Bangladesh to ensure sustainability of the LIKE Club initiatives. Participants recognized that activities guided by the <em>16 Capability List<\/em> contribute to students\u2019 overall growth and help create a more inclusive and supportive school environment.
